The Work of Flesh
Work of flesh is directed and controlled by the law of flesh which proved at times to be good and innocent (not looking like sin). How can we discern the work of flesh? That which is born of the flesh is flesh. And that which is born of the Spirit is spirit (John 3:6) – that is the answer, for God is the only Lawgiver, the Judge and the King and He is Spirit. The work of flesh can produce good out of the knowledge of good, but the intent of the heart is evil and not right with God, and also, evil out of the knowledge of evil. The good, the work of flesh produces is not from God if it was not approved or directed by Him and will not endure the fire of God, so it will be consumed by the fire of God.
It is necessary for us to know that fruitfulness does not attached only to the work of the Spirit. A man has a tendency and capacity to be fruitful and multiply, bring forth abundantly on the earth. Everything a man does produces result whether good or evil. And recall that there is a way seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death. We must not be deceived of the works of the flesh and also not ignorant of the workings of the flesh because of its fruits which is good to the eyes and even beauty to behold and touch. We can easily discern the work of flesh when the fruit produced is evil and quickly run away from it but what can we do if it produces fruits looking good to the eye, but the seed inside is evil. It is so challenging, because many people have been lured to evil through this kind of fruit. Only God is Good and only Him can produce what is good, even when it does not look good or right to man. He is Righteous God.
The workings of the flesh must be restrained and rejected. It should not be allowed to be planted in our space and taking root, less it produces its results which can even sustain for some time. But its sustenance is devoid of peace. Its outcome is of a rebellion, like a thorn in the flesh.
I see God will not stop the working of the flesh after His Will has been made known until the last day when the man of sin is finally destroyed, but He will destroy what the flesh has produced to reveal His Mighty. For this purpose, the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil. We are the one to stop the workings of the flesh in us as we allow Christ Jesus to dwell in us by faith and standing by God’s promises for what the flesh produces is the counterfeit of what the Lord promised. Then, we will be able to stop the spreading of the works of the devil working in our flesh, in our land, proving what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God and destroy her territories and strongholds through the preaching of the Christ Jesus our Lord living in us.
For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God. For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father. The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God: and if children, then heirs of God, and joint- heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together. (Romans 8:14-17)
We are more than conquerors through him who loved us. Amen
