THE MANDATE, THE JOURNEY

  THE MANDATE, THE JOURNEY

Everyone lives with a mandate to be carried out, and as we embark on it, a journey begins. This is what define us and the purpose of our existence.  Our mandate in life is found in Christ Jesus, our Lord and the Master, our righteousness by faith in Him. If that be the case, for how long have you been with the Master? The starting point for any meaningful journey in life is to come to the Lord, and be with Him, walk with the Lord as Enoch and Abraham did. Don’t be in haste to leave His presence until you are sent out after receiving all the information and instructions needed for the assignment giving to you (NB: nothing like spiritual assignment, every assignment is physical but emanating from spiritual source). In His presence, His will become our will, His desires our desires, His thought our thought, His ways our ways, His counsel our counsel, His word our word, His purpose our purpose and we receive the mandate to go out and do the work He assigned to us. Then we will know the exact location or place of our operation for the journey of life. For the purpose of His coming to the world is to destroy the work of devil and give us life, life in abundance.

Having received the mandate to go and lunch out, we should not take a step unless we were assigned with a Driver of life to carry us to the destination shown to us, and never abandon the Map of life along the journey. The assigned Driver of life is the Person of the Holy Spirit of God who will lead us to the destination and the Map is the Holy Book of God.

We can only enjoy the journey if we constantly and daily recharging the battery by ensuring the alternator in proper working condition (the house of prayer, pray without season, men ought to pray and not to faint, fellowship of the Lord – the alternator), and always ensure that we were not run out of fuel. A vehicle with poorly charged battery with poor alternating system will refuse to start when the journey is to commence at the beginning or at the middle of the journey after rest. Though, one might be fortunate to be closed to a place of recharging the battery or renew the battery (waiting upon the Lord to renew strength), which is wonderful but unfortunate if in the midst of wilderness of life, proving difficult in charging the battery unless some divine intervention. A vehicle run out of fuel can stop at anytime of the journey and also one might be fortunate to be closed to a filling station where he could get fuel but unfortunate if stopped in the midst of wilderness of life and this might likewise put an end to the journey to one’s destination if step is not taken on time. These two scenarios happened when one failed to listen to the Driver’s instruction to ensure the battery is daily charged and checked for proper alternating system, and of getting the supply of fuel at when due.

What is the battery and the fuel in this sense? But nothing than to be strong and of good courage. Remember, if one fails in the time of adversity, his strength is little. The fuel of good courage must be the driven force behind our movement, for it is the courage that fuelling the mission, purpose and plans. Our strength in the strength of the Lord makes us strong for the journey, the battery that measured the knowledge of God we possessed. For those who know their God shall be strong and do exploit. Our courage is empowered by our will which is His will that becomes our will and our resolution to always obey and trust in Him, for if we are willing and obedient, we will eat the good of the land.

The journey is sweet if all things for the journey are set in place, lacking nothing. May we all receive the grace to finish our journey well and strong in Jesus name. Amen
