The Work of God
How can we do the work of God? The work of God is not done just because we see people doing it, not to be copied. But it can be done by receiving instructions and follow the order. Touch not the things of God if you have not position yourself for His tasks. It’s true that all are called or invited but few are chosen and very few are faithful. God does not joke with His holiness and His order which must be observed and kept no matter who we are. It’s a great privilege to serve and worship in His Holy Name.
In the work of God, sanctification is one of the orders and so important to be the first order. We must be set apart holy for His work, consecrated and sanctified by the truth, His word is truth. The work of God and His services must be done in the truth. His work must be done in Christ Jesus, for Jesus is the Truth. Any work rendered outside Christ Jesus is not accepted before the Lord and it’s not His work. When people had the word of Jesus, they were passionate to do the work of God and asked Him of how they could work the work of God. The answer is still relevant to us which is, believe in Jesus, believe in the truth, listen to Him, His command, His instructions and take it for yourself and follow it. You are being sanctified and set apart to carry it out, that is the work of God which is in the obedience to the word of God in Christ Jesus.
The next order to follow is to know that the work of God can only be done in the strength of God, the ability provided by the Spirit. The driven force must be the Spirit of God. We can not do the work of God with our own strength, or the arm of flesh, for it’s not by power nor by might but by His Spirit. The work of God is done by the Spirit of God in dwelling in us. Also, let recall that those that worship the Lord, serving the Lord, must do so in spirit and in truth.It is an essential order in serving the Lord.
Another thing of note in the order of the work of God is to be skillful. To be skillful in this sense is in the ability to learn or surrendering unto discipleship of Jesus. To be teachable, ready to learn new things from God, in order to be matured in handling His work to His delight and not to a lazy Christian but diligent in the work of God. To what we are doing for the Lord, there are still something much more beside that to be done, more things expecting from us as a wise master builder, so one must be skillful in handling things of God. It must be done in the skillfulnes of the heart, handled greatly by a matured and rich heart.
Always know that there is still something besides what we are doing to be revealed to us in order to be perfectly done to His pleasing.
