Many times, what look like our lack is not what we truly lack. Until our true lack is known we cannot be satisfied even if what we presumed to be lack was met and addressed. The truth of the matter remain as the Lord is our Shepherd we shall not lack. What we truly lack is what the Lord has given to us “The Good Shepherd”, the Prince of Peace, to shepherd us. The world lacks this peace and anyone who is of the world, though we are in the world but not of the world. This peace He gives to His own, not as the world gives.
What the enemy does is to steal one’s peace, as long as one lacks peace, he is already captured. This inner peace is what that sustain the outside, so what gives definition to the worldly peace is what could be seen outside not what sustain the outside. Satan in his strategies give what look like peace but not, it is just a comfort for a while.
Have you ever imagine someone with riches, power, influence and many things that bring comfort to a man but deep down him, still in lack. For such a person, it is easy for him to know his lack but how to get it prove difficult for him. In other round, a poor man in his thinking, thought what he lacks is riches, power, influence etc, leaving his real lack behind running after his presumed lack. Every other thing a man is running after is secondary, the primary is the peace that the Lord gives.
Devil is the father of liars and confusion, there is no truth in him and anyone of his children. He is a thief and a murderer. He tells lie of what is not true to cause confusion, fear, anxiety, worries that take one’s peace. In achieving this goal, one could no longer live right with God and with himself anymore, righteous living is taking away, and we all know that there is no peace for the wicked. Devil turns many people to wicked unknown to them to take away their peace. Never forget that the effect of righteousness is peace. When we do things rightly the way the Lord wants, as He shepherd us, we have peace. And as we have peace, every other thing will be added unto us. For when we have peace, we will be able to think right and secured. The promise remains in Isaiah 26:3
“You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You.” (Isaiah 26:3).
Is your mind stay in the Lord? What give one peace is his trust in the Lord. Proverb 3:2b “And peace they will add to you” which is obedient to the commandment and instructions of God even during chaos and confusion time; Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths. Proverbs 3:5-6, this account for our peace as our mind stay in Him. Likewise,(Philippians 4:6-7) “ be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.”
The counsel of the Lord for us in this time is to let our hands be strong, let the weak say I am strong, strengthen the weak hands, and make firm the feeble knees. Be strong, do not fear! The Lord saves. Amen.
Praise God! Amen.
