Many people are losing the battle not because they lack help or resources but because of the corrupt state of their hearts. The state of our hearts play a major role in what befall us. What we allowed to rule over our hearts determine our victory and defeat in life. Our hearts must be maintained in an active state, strong and courageous enough to say NO to any form of unrighteousness and ungodliness. For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men, teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously and godly in the present age, looking for the blessed hope and glorious appearing of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ (Titus 2:11-13). For this reason, it is very important to guard our hearts with all diligence, and be watchful against any contaminations and earnestly looking for the glorious appearing of our great God, our King and our Savior Jesus Christ.
We should not be as those who sleep, those who are not under the control of their heart by the Spirit of the Lord, which heart is not active and strong, which everything goes, whether this or that only for the heart not to be empty, who lack understanding of their dealings. Their understanding has grown dull and they could not discern good from the bad, holy from unholy, right from wrong. Rather, as a watchman, who is active on his duty, strong and well informed, examine all things, test all spirits , no matter the physical appearance they presented, to know their source. For the source of everything on earth is very important whether it is from the Lord or not though it might be a promise from God. But the question is, was it giving to us by God according to His way? Let us not practice what the Lord has not given unto us as a person and never spread it. This call for us to be sober, calm and be a serious watchman, not working under pressure or duress to make mistake but who will never give acces to any doctrine or submit to any act without examination and testing before giving a pass or approval. Many watchmen failed in this regard. They failed to examine some impulses coming into their hearts and endangered their lives and destinies, the battle got them unprepared and the enemy take advantage of the state of their corrupt heart to attack them. As in a proverb which says, “if there is no enemy within, the one outside can do us no harm” , so enemy looks for a bridge in the heart to attack. Let be watchful and sober, may the Lord help us to always walk in His victory in Jesus name. Amen
Let cloth (protect ) our hearts with faith and love and as a helmet the hope of salvation. Warn those who are unruly, comfort the fainthearted, uphold the weak, be patient with all. Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, in everything give thanks, for this is the sign of a good, active and healthy heart meant to be victorious in Christ Jesus our Lord.
May our whole spirit, soul, and body be preserved blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. Amen
